This ‘80s alternative rock band from Minneapolis featured Dan Wilson and John Munson, who went on to found Semisonic. Wilson also became a highly successful cowriter and producer, working with artists such as Adele, Pink, Taylor Swift, Nas, and Keith Urban. Yet, it was Dan’s younger brother Matt Wilson who founded Trip Shakespeare, with Dan joining for this second indie album that has a much tougher edge due to being recorded live in the studio without headphones. The group’s rhythm section is tight, and the three-part harmonies bring songs like “Two Wheeler, Four Wheeler” and “Thief” into high definition. This 2014 reissue adds nine bonus tracks.
