Supercluster - The Big Dipper Anthology

Supercluster - The Big Dipper Anthology

Big Dipper were the shooting stars of the late-’80s Boston indie-rock scene, burning bright for an EP and two LPs (compiled here) before flaming out after a one-record stint with the majors. Debut single “Faith Healer” establishes their masterful fusion of tense post-punk and tuneful jangle, while “All Going Out Together” sees them veer toward heartland-bound twang. This collection also features demos for an aborted fourth album, a portal into an alternate universe where the ecstatic rocker “Wake Up the King” ruled early-’90s MTV.
