Phosphorescent Harvest

Phosphorescent Harvest

Phosphorescent Harvest measures the distance that Chris Robinson has come since his heyday as the voice of The Black Crowes. While his Stones and Faces influences haven’t entirely disappeared, Robinson’s third album with The Brotherhood finds him more interested in blurring genre boundaries and exploring fresh textures. “Shore Power” has a shimmery psychedelic tint, while “Wanderer’s Lament” offers acoustic rock balladry and “Badlands Here We Come” invokes vintage Western movie soundtracks. Binding these diverse tunes together is an outlaw attitude deepened by yearning and a touch of the mystical.
