Brahms: Piano Concertos

Brahms: Piano Concertos

Having made his name with a win at the 2009 Clara Haskil International Piano Competition and a handful of fine solo piano recordings of Brahms and Schumann, Frenchman Adam Laloum delivers a very impressive concerto debut with Brahms’ two mighty concertos. He clearly has a feel for this music and plays with an ideal balance of poetry and power––the melodies really sing out. His performance of the Second Concerto is particularly impressive, aided by fine support from Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra and Kazuki Yamada, as well as a well-handled recording made in the excellent Haus des Rundfunks.
