Cannonball's Bossa Nova

Cannonball's Bossa Nova

An alto heavyweight who worked with everybody from Miles Davis (on his landmark Kind of Blue) to Yusef Lateef, George Duke, Bill Evans, Sarah Vaughan, and Oscar Peterson, Cannonball Adderley was a jazz giant who released countless albums between 1955 and 1975. Recorded in 1962 at the height of America's bossa nova craze, Cannonball's Bossa Nova teams him with Brazilian players Sergio Mendes (piano), Dom Um Romao (drums), Durval Ferreira (guitar), Octavio Bailly Jr. (bass), Paulo Moura (sax), and Pedro Paulo (trumpet). This extended version includes a half-dozen bonus tracks, making a good album even better. It's perfect for fans of classic jazz, crossover bossa nova, or just nice and mellow mood music. Check out "Corcovado," "Groovy Samba," and "Boogity Boogity."
