iTunes Review
Phil Anselmo and Dimebag Darrell Abbott (here as “Diamond” Darrell) transformed Pantera at the onset of the ‘90s into a band that would change heavy metal music forever with Cowboys from Hell. Their grinding power would eventually grow even more subversive, but on Cowboys it begins the climb. The title track has amazing elasticity to its groove. “Primal Concrete Sledge” takes thrash-metal hysteria and crunches it into new form. “Psycho Holiday” brings out Anselmo’s unusual vocal attack that uses a battering roar to deliver its points (and a few well-times Rob Halford-like screams). “Cemetery Gates” is a complex seven-minute piece. “Shattered” lets Anselmo reach for the high notes one last time. “The Art of Shredding” acts as a statement of things to come but is still plenty more varied than the genre would become outside of them. The 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition includes just about all you could want: live recordings, many previously unreleased, and 11 demos, including “The Will to Survive,” a song that didn’t make the final album and is a natural bridge between old and new Pantera.

Talking (Trash) Bout Your Generation
Today's nu-metal acts, like Disturbed, Mudvayne and Slipknot, are a dime a dozen... but there was only one Dime-Bag Darrel.
Worth the wait!!!!
I read a review today that CFH remaster sounds inferior to the original 1990 version. What is this person smokin'. It sounds like listening to it for the first time. This album is the definitive PANTERA. Production is flawless, raw, and agreesive in every sense. This is total metal from start to finish. The extra stuff is great also, do not care for the demo versions. It is hard to believe that CFH came out when I was a junior in high school, 20 years just flew by. This needs to be played LOUD all the time. Thank you PANTERA for always releasing quality metal, and to Phil, Rex, Vinnie, and Dimebag or (Diamond) which he was called during this period in metal history. Rest In Peace Dimebag, us fans will always love and miss you.
WTF?
Don't get me wrong. This is a 5 star album. But has anyone else had sound quality issues with it? It's like the high and low end is over compressed. None of my other music sounds like this. But seriously the sound quality is not wonderful.
