Mexican duo Los 2 de la S made a splash with the cumbia of their 2018 introductory single, "El Verbón." With a title like De Fiesta, it's not surprising that their debut album features its share of similarly raucous corridos, but there's also more to this pair of songwriters than partying: Johnny Zazueta and Omar Tarazón were mentored by Sergio Lizárraga of Banda Sinaloense MS, and they've inherited their benefactor's love for blazing horns and passionate ballads. "Como Piensas" showcases their harmonies with a banda-meets-pop sound that's both sugary and soulful, and the stirring "No Me Vas a Ver Volver" reveals a real emotional depth behind their feel-good facade.
