Epic fail
by xEDGE 4 LIFExThrowdown used to have their own style. They were a band that went against what others did and they were a straight edge band. I think their shift in lifestyle suited their music because it now sounds like they have assimilated into the genre of throwOUT metal. This is one of the most disappointing things to happen in my life to date. Throwdown....you've changed man...
Metal Arsenal
by CilverbackCome on, this album is both emotional and brutal. There are many genres being represented within this opus: Metalcore, Post-Thrash, Groove Metal. We should be so thankful that the torch is carried by such an amazing band. Throwdown is influenced; who isn't? Got it! Enjoy them for their past as well as current evolution. Highly recommended.
Excellent
by PumpUp#1All around, a great album. Great heaviness but with enough melody to keep the listener engaged. Here's a song-by-song review:
1.The Scythe: Great opener with a catchy chorus. 4.5/5
2.This Continuum: Actually my favorite song. Best song on the album. Really showcases Dave's voice. Turn the stereo up all the way. 5/5
3.Tombs: Not the greatest, but still good. 4/5
4.The Blinding Light: A bit slower but the verses are great. Still satisfying. 4/5
5.Widowed: Actually reminds me of a power ballad, but they pulled it off. 4/5
6.Headed South: Fast and fierce. One of my favorites. 5/5
7.Serpent Noose: Decent. Could've been better. Chorus saves the song. 3.5/5
8.Ourobourous Rising: Great headbanger. No idea what the title means though. 4.5/5
9.Skeleton Vanguard: One weird song. Once again, the chorus saves the song. 3/5
10.Pyre and Procession: Awesome song. 5/5
11.Black and Vatican: Keeps going, all the way to the end. 4.5/5
12.Burial at Sea: Good way to end it. Not as fast as the rest of the album, but is still one of the best songs. 4.5/5
