With Outshyne's second studio album, the band digs deeper into its own sound by veering further from the influences it wore on its collective sleeve for its 2010 debut, Country Boy in Me. The Nashville (by way of Laurens, S.C.) country-rock quintet opens with “Redneck Recreation,” a swampy twang-rocker in which frontman Waylon Owings simultaneously makes fun of and takes pride in his backwoods roots. The result is as catchy as it is funny. This spills into the following “Dirt Road Romance,” where the band plays an exaggerated Southern rock serenade about two young kids finding love wherever knobby tires kick up mud. The title track dials back the heartland humor for a bona fide country rock ballad on par with any heartstring-puller played by Eric Church, Keith Urban, or Jason Aldean. “Every Inch of You” is the first song here to balance bumpkin endearments with serious tunesmith talents—it’s both playful and heartfelt. “Moonlight Crush” is similarly romantic, but this gets cutely contrasted with “She Makes My Truck Look Good.”
