Amy Lynn & The Gunshow are a seven-piece group that trample over the classic Memphis-Motown soul-rock connections. Led by the firepower of lead singer Amy Lynn Zanetto, this group are the real deal; they take it to the stage and blow people away. For Don’t Trip on the Glitter, they teamed with producer Steve Greenwell for four days at The Clubhouse in Rhinebeck, N.Y., where they captured the energy of their shows with the finesse required of a professional studio recording. The decision to lead off with a cover of The Shangri-Las' hit “Remember (Walking in the Sand)” was a gutsy one, but it immediately establishes Zanetto’s love for a great song as something more important than one’s personal ego on pushing their originals. The band's unorthodox lineup of baritone sax, tenor sax, trumpet, keyboards, bass, and drums lets them turn songs such as the title track, “West Village Blues,” and “Can’t Put My Finger on It” into flashy showpieces that recall the finest soul music of the ‘60s and ‘70s.
