Norton Records rescued these obscure but classic garage rock sides that all miraculously came from the '60s teen scene in Fort Worth, Texas. A documentary film, Teen a Go Go, has since further explained this phenomenon. Fans of the Nuggets, Pebbles, and Back from the Grave compilations will feel right at home with the thoroughly off-the-hook performances on each of the three volumes of this prized anthology. This second volume continues the story told on the first collection, with a number of bands returning with covers that show their teen enthusiasms, from The Jades' take on The Rolling Stones' "I'm Alright" to The Cynics' version of Manfred Mann's "Mister You're a Better Man Than I" (likely studied from The Yardbirds' version). The Tracers provide a slower and interesting take on "She Said Yeah," a tune they nailed on Volume 1. Larry & The Blue Notes' "Night of the Phantom" is the released version of the first volume's "Night of the Sadist," since they worried that "sadist" might offend the FCC. The Jinx's "I Can't Go on Loving You" explains the glory of garage rock in two quick minutes!
