Recorded in October 2011 during the tour to support his last album, What Were You Hoping For?, this 19-track collection perfectly captures Van Hunt's exceptional live show, complete with audience noise, in-between song banter, and reinvented versions of his songs. Released via his own label Godless Hotspot, the set shows Van Hunt spreading his sonic wings. Many of the tunes here benefit from a more hard rock–meets–prog rock setting, with plenty of fuzzed-out, change-happy guitar riffs backing up his rugged yet smooth vocals. He runs through several of his hit singles like "Dust" and "Down Here in Hell" but also delivers great updates of lesser-known album cuts. Highlights include "A Time Machine Is My New Girlfriend," "Man of the Year," and "Eyes Like Pearls."
