We Outchea

We Outchea

Back in 2006, Atlanta emcee Young Dro emerged from obscurity and scored a No. 1 single with the breakout hit "Shoulder Lean" featuring T.I. After struggling for years, he was finally doing it: racking up awards from BET and Ozone and positioning himself as the ATL's next big star. His debut album, Best Thing Smokin', was a legitimate success, as was the follow-up single "Rubberband Banks." Yet in the six years since his initial impact, fans have moved on and his career has been pretty quiet, though he's dropped a bunch of mixtapes and features. With We Outchea, he hopes to recapture the magic. He switches up his steez to include more singing and more Auto-Tune. Hosted by Bigga Rankin, the resulting mixtape is a solid listen. It's 13 tracks of standard Southern fare, with plenty of airhorns and gunshots sprinkled in the mix. Standout joints include "Outrage," "Dangerous," and the Group Home–channeling "Outro."
