Unplugged: The Official Bootleg (Live)

Unplugged: The Official Bootleg (Live)

This 1991 release caught Paul McCartney in a back-to-basics mood after the whirlwind world tour that was The Paul McCartney World Tour. Not only is he musically back-to-basics here (completely unplugged), but he revisits much of the material that inspired him at the beginning of this career. Spirited takes on tracks originally popularized by Gene Vincent, Bill Monroe, and Roy Brown are set against rare airings of Beatles tracks like "Here, There, and Everywhere" and "And I Love Her." The instrumental version of the then-never performed "Junk" is a fitting, sweet end to this great set.
