Hard Dance Mash Up (Mixed By BK, Andy Whitby and Sam & Deano A.k.a. Tidy DJs)

Solid tracks, but sloppy files and short mixes.

     

The way this 3-mix collection is "packaged" makes absolutely no sense. Some tracks are (or appear to be) full-length files, but many others are only two- or three-minute excerpts. Also, many of the tracks have 4 seconds of silence at the end, making it nearly impossible to play them all non-stop without gaps. Furthermore, since many of the tracks are missing proper beginnings and endings, you won't achieve a smooth flow even if you do successfully remove the silence. How these tracks were prepared for this particular collection seems nothing less than careless and random.

The three mixes themselves are pretty sweet, but they seem too short (38:00 to 48:00 minutes) considering that the individual tracks clock in at over 7.5 hours. Three 60-minute mixes would not have been too hard to pull off considering how many songs were selected for this collection.

There are some really good tracks here, but since the files are so messy this collection serves better as a sampler than a serious dance collection. I've purchased hundreds of mix CDs and downloads over the years, and this is easily the most messed-up collection I've ever seen. That's too bad, because now I'm reluctant to buy any other downloads by Nukleuz, Tidy or Frantic.
