Customer Reviews
Fleisher and Eschenbach are stupendous!
This is a great recording for Fleisher. To the best of my knowledge this is the premire recording of the Hindemith. It is a pity that he's chosen to use basically a college orchestra to record the piece. Granted Curtis spins out great talent and provides fodder for most of the world orchestras, but the premire should have been left for the pros to do. This is most evident in the Dvorak where some of the sections are obviously still learning their trade. Eschenbach is still a top notch conductor and is one of the few that can draw out the best of any group so it's not a complete loss. Five stars for the Hindemith three or so for the Dvorak . -Bz
