This psychedelic group released three intriguing and compelling albums for Reprise Records before the label dropped the band due to poor sales. The group's former producer signed the band to his label and released this vague concept album about "Poor Patty" and her ugly travails on the L.A. streets after the Summer of Love soured. The songs take on an eerie, unsettling effect when listened to in context of leader Bob Markley's eventual mental illness. Taken on their own terms, these are interesting songs that are relatively straightforward compared to the band's previous output. At just 29 minutes, the album breezes past. The title track plays out like a circa-1969 hard rock tune, with wailing guitars in full force. "Where Money Rules Everything" and "My Dog Back Home" feature simple, appealing pop melodies, which were always the group's strength, no matter how "Art" or "Experimental" the band may have aimed to be. "Outside: Inside" sounds like The Beach Boys turned upside down.
