The Rewire

The Rewire

A veteran MC, producer, and label exec, MC Magic was born in Mexico, raised in Phoenix, and established his label Nastyboy Records way back in 1990. His first album Don't Worry dropped in 1995, after which he focused on recruiting new artists and establishing his crew, Nastyboy Klick, who scored a sizeable hit with the Roger Troutman collaboration "Down for Yours." In 2006 he returned with his second solo record Magic City, and two years later came out with Magic City Part 2, racking up several more singles. Magic is a true romantic, and most of the 22 tracks on The Rewire are straight up rap ballads, with him pouring his heart out to various lovers, set to deep 808 beats, melodious keyboards, and ample amounts of both Spanish guitars and his trusty vocoder. Chicago speed-rapper Twista appears on "Diggin," his crew NB Ridaz return on "The Only Kiss," and his three kids get busy on "Fat Heads."
