Guitars chime and whip, the bass percolates, and the drums keep a sweaty pace—all connected by a sticky elasticity. On songs like “On Your Way Down” and “Feel the Way I Do,” the Brisbane quartet takes the best parts of modern indie pop and passes it through a kaleidoscopic ‘80s filter. They maintain this pace throughout Quiet Ferocity, carving a unique lane just for themselves.
