This "complete" collection includes 1962’s Sinatra-Basie: An Historic Musical First (the first 10 tracks) and 1964’s It Might As Well Be Swing (the second 10 tracks). The collaborations between Frank Sinatra and Count Basie brought Basie back into the limelight; members of the Basie band would often perform with Sinatra over this period. They Sinatra swing and phrase in ways previously beyond him. On “Please Be Kind” and “My Kind of Girl,” Sinatra’s having fun with drummer Sonny Payne, while various instrumentalists grace the record with inspired solos. Neal Hefti arranged the first album, while Quincy Jones arranged the second album.
