Swift

Marco Benevento has made a name for himself over the last decade by playing in a variety of groove, electro, rock, and jazz bands. No matter the setting, he brings a richly detailed sound born on a multitude of layered keyboards, often with programmed drum machines added. Named after producer Richard Swift, his fifth solo effort features Benevento singing (with technical assistance by Ween’s Aaron Freeman) for the first time on many of the tunes. The new sound comes off as something in the same psychedelic galaxy as The Flaming Lips and Mercury Rev; here, regular bassist Dave Dreiwitz and drummer Andy Borger fill out the sound.
