Kings and Queens of the Forest
My kids and I are big fans of Willey's first album "Dance for the Sun." And this new album doesn't disappoint. Its the same great mix of get up and move songs coupled with breathy/relaxing tracks. I put on the song "Rollacoaster" from this new album and my four kids stopped what they were doing, and on their own started a train/rollacoaster around the house. Just when they were getting a little rowdy the song ended and I put on "Underneath the Rainbow." They were almost instantly calmed down. As a yogi, I love the added yoga tracks. With kids ranging aged 2-9 its hard to find music that engages/pleases everyone - thank you to Willey for another album that we all LOVE!
Kings and Queens of the Forest
My 7 year old daughter loves this CD. We have listened to it over and over. The illustrations that show yoga poses to go along with each song are especially fun, and she has tried out most of them. She also likes to just sit and listen, or sing along while reading the words from the booklet. A huge bonus for me is that I like the songs as well. None of the songs are overly childish or irritating which makes it a great choice for a family with kids of lots of different ages-- and their parents!
Completely worth it!
I highly recommend this album for everyone! I am not a kid by any means, but have a few of these songs on my ipod because Kira's soothing voice and the beautiful lyrics simply make me happy! But then it is perfect for children, too! I am a dance teacher (I instruct 3-7 year olds) and I am going to start using this album in my classes. The songs on this album will certainly evoke the children's imaginations- which is a big goal of mine in the classes I teach. I also recently did a college art project including one of Kira's songs (Underneath the Rainbow)- fellow colleagues said the song reminded them of an Apple advertisement and many others I've shared the video with ask about the catchy song. Thanks for the beautiful songs Kira!
