Love, passion and lightness fuel Berlin producer Virginia's debut album, which pays tribute to the freedom found on dancefloors. On Fierce for the Night, she specializes in massive vocal hooks that are both life-affirming (“I wanna fly on a strip of aspiration,” she sings on “Obstacle”) and integral to the toughened house and funk backing. It's an absurd hit parade: the title-track is pounding and anthemic, while “Raverd” lives up to its name, unleashing massive, strafing synths.
