Dulce Beat

Dulce Beat

Belanova’s aptly titled second album, Dulce Beat, is exactly what it claims to be: a delicious serving of sugary pop. "Rosa Pastel" boasts sparkling keys whipped high, and the rock-fueled "Sexy" is sticky-sweet. But the rosy-hued Guadalajara trio also spin softness with all kinds of lounge-y sounds, from the bossa nova guitar plucks in “Mírame” to the ‘70s-inspired disco beats in “Escena Final.” Mix in Denisse Guerrero’s arch vocals and you get one of Mexico’s most irresistible pop albums of the mid-‘00s.
