When composer Trevor Jones passed away midway through production of The Last of the Mohicans, the legendary Randy Edelman stepped in to finish his work. The result of these unfortunate circumstances proved creatively monumental. This sweeping, panoramic score, by two artists who might otherwise never have collaborated, has the elegance and grace of a Golden Age standard by the likes of Elmer Bernstein or Alfred Newman, as heard in the dramatic clamor of "Elk Hunt" or the haunting pipes of "The Glade, Pt. II."
