The Best of Busta Rhymes

The Best of Busta Rhymes

Back in the late '80s, Busta Rhymes was a teenager getting his start as a member of Leaders of the New School, a rambunctious but distinctively lighthearted (think De La Soul, FU-Shnickens) crew from New York. LONS were popular if not exactly huge. Busta was their breakout star, soon hitting the big time with his verse on A Tribe Called Quest's smash hit "Scenario" in 1992. The following year, the group broke up, Busta went solo, and the rest is history. Over the past two decades, he's worked with just about everyone in the game, lending his flamboyant style and unpredictable lyricism to classic songs from Biggie and LL, plus modern-day pop stars Lil Wayne and Justin Bieber. He's released nine solo albums, scored a ton of huge hits, launched The Flipmode Squad, starred in several movies, and earned 11 Grammy nominations. This collection includes most of Busta's big chart-topping singles, such as "Woo Hah!! Got You All in Check," "Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See," and the golden-era vintage "Case of the P.T.A." There are a few curious omissions, but this is still a great compilation from one of hip-hop's most unique voices.
