Random Genius

All over the map, stylistically for R & B and Pop Natalie does well with retro-throwbacks the likes of which would make Miss Diana Ross crazy a la "It's a Beautiful Day". She sweetens the pop pot with the progressive divadom of "Things that You Do" and her soulful "How I Love 2 Love U" would make miss Mariah Carey's nu-soul of "I'll Be Loving U Long Time" look shabby. The true gems here are "Around the World" a contemporary take on Michael Jackson's "Rock with You" which being billed as the first emphasis track at Internet radio should propel Natalie into the mainstream with its nods to Janet as well; the beautiful "I Knew You Were the One" which has crossover hit written all over it and of course what should have been the first single sent to XM/Sirius for consideration for Suite 62 play which is supposedly so open: "You're Mysterious". Brown even mainstreams the Jill Scott-vibe with "Let's Just Waste Some Time". It appears with this new release Natalie is coming closer to a revelation about herself and her music and her next release promises to be even more distinctive. For a supposedly low-budget release, the production values and orchestration are far superior to "Let the Candle Burn" which yielded many hits at BeSonica and this promises to yield no shortage as well.

What An Amazing Find!

I was on Twitter tonight and saw a Retweet with a link to a song in itt that was called "I Knew You Were The One". I checked this song out and had a listen. I was so amazed by the voice I heard I bought this entire album, "Random Thoughts". Natalie has a gorgeous voice and her songs are really excellent. There is a fun song called "Things That You Do" that I really love and I can say this is one of the few albums where I can just put it on and keep listening all night. I've been tweeting and listening and am really surprised I found such a great artist on Twitter that I hadn't heard of from the radio. Just goes to show you that the net is full of nuggets! Natalie Brown should be an international star!

Best indie r&b artist!

I found out about Natalie years ago and have followed her career since. This album can definitely compete with the major label artists. Skeptical? Listen to "It's A Beautiful Day" and "You're Mysterious" and you will want to buy the entire album! Support indie artists!
