The Complete Studio Albums

The Complete Studio Albums

This is a collection of the eight official Doors albums: six with lead singer Jim Morrison and two recorded and released after his July 1971 death. It's a convenient way of obtaining every official studio cut The Doors released during their natural lifetime, with the exception of the non-LP b-sides "Who Scared You" and "(You Need Meat) Don't Go No Further." As a band with numerous greatest-hits collections, it's advisable for fans to give serious consideration to collecting the entire albums. First, The Doors' self-titled debut album remains a singular landmark in rock 'n' roll history. Second, The Doors never made a bad record. Fans who love hits such as "Light My Fire" and "Riders on the Storm" will surely be impressed by deep album cuts like "The Crystal Ship," "Wild Child," "The Changeling," and "Summer's Almost Gone." The inclusion here of the post-Morrison albums "Other Voices" and "Full Circle" is a bit dicier. The musicianship remains peerless. However, no one could replace Jim Morrison, and no one ever did. That said, this is a welcome one-stop shop.
