Dream.Zone.Achieve

A Harlem rapper known for his cheeba-centric wordplay, Smoke DZA has been doing his thing for about a decade now. He got his start as a ghostwriter; then he was part of the duo Smoke & Numbers. Then he went solo and dropped a gang of successful mixtapes, including Substance Abuse, T.H.C., and Sweet Baby Kushed God. In 2011 he finally dropped his first official album, Rolling Stoned; this led to a deal with High Times Records and his sophomore LP, Rugby Thompson. On Dream.ZONE.Achieve (which is what the "DZA" in his name stands for), he serves fans a three-part album that dials down the weed-championing in exchange for more serious rhymes about New York, getting his hustle on, and making it big in the rap game. Outstanding production comes from Ski Beatz, Pete Rock, Harry Fraud, Sean C & LV, and more, while longtime compatriots Joey Badass, BJ the Chicago Kid, Wiz Khalifa, and Curren$y all make appearances too. It's arguably the best work of his career. Check out "Jigga Flow," "Legends in the Making (Ashtray Pt. 2)," and "Achieve."
