Like Cole, Benson started his career as a respected jazz instrumentalist before making an unexpected mid-career left turn into pop stardom as a singer. The album is bookended with two renditions of "Mona Lisa"—Benson first recorded it as an eight-year-old prodigy known as Little Georgie—and features his sensitive interpretations of songs from Cole’s extensive and timeless body of work.
