White Trash Heroes (Remastered)

Though the Chapel Hill band’s fourth album would be the last one in their original eight-year lifespan, White Trash Heroes sounds less like the end of the road than the start of many new ones. The chaotic “I.N.S.,” the eerie dirge “Slick Tricks and Bright Lights,” and the title track’s excursion into Suicide-like electro-rock all chart directions that the band members would venture on later endeavors. Yet the noisy and nervy “Fashion Bleeds” proves that the original formula still had plenty of juice left, too.
