THEY'VE DONE IT AGAIN!
This Album may be lacking in the Casablanca aura that TPOS conveyed. But it is still fresh and funky! Every track has a unique flavor to it, something that I think the KE was trying to accomplish. This is excellent music and i recommend it to anyone!
A Deviant, Not Always A Bad Thing
Karminsky's latest work lacks the Casablanca-esk Near Eastern sounds blended with the instruments of the American jazz era in its infancy. Yet, this very lack of internationalism inherent in most of Karminsky's music is evidence of this group's musical genius. They are not confined to one style, thus they are not monotonous. This album exudes a Middle American groove that makes me feel part of the 70's. An altogether different style but still complete with an abudance of musical acumen. Its replay factor is severly diminshed however.
