So much of G. Love's music is about the rapping bluesman's loopy, likable delivery, but Lemonade, his second solo album sans his usual band, Special Sauce, flaunts some of his most memorable melodies. Cases in point: the eminently hummable pop-rock of "Ain't That Right," the singsong funk of "Holla!," and the rich, churchy blues of "Hot Cookin'." Guests include soul-pop brother Ben Harper ("Let the Music Play"), fellow folkster Jack Johnson ("Rainbow"), and nimble MCs Blackalicious ("Banger") and longtime compatriot Jasper ("Thanks and Praise").
