No Filter - EP

No Filter - EP

A Kansas City emcee closely affiliated with Tech N9ne and down with the Strange Music family, Big Scoob has been putting in work since the late ‘90s, first with a group (57th Street Rogue Dog Villains), then alongside Tech, and finally on the solo tip with albums like Monsterifik and Damn Fool. Though relatively unknown on the coasts, he has a huge following in the Midwest and delivers the goods yet again on his latest EP. No Filter is short and sweet with just six tracks, but it finds Scoob sounding stronger than ever. The dark and moody "Torn" addresses stress and strife and his perseverance to overcome. "Sloppy" sports a crazy beat built on heavy piano thumps and beeping, topped with party-centric lyrics and taking out suckers, while "Soil Music" rocks old-school drum-machine action reminiscent of Sir Mix-a-Lot's classic "Posse on Broadway." Another solid release from an artist who gets better with each new record.
