Four More Songs - EP

English singer/songwriter Lewis Watson continues his march toward a debut album with his fourth EP in two years (with a fifth, Some Songs with Some Friends, slated for release before 2013 is out). Four More Songs is yet another look at just how quickly Watson is evolving from a simple acoustic troubadour found on YouTube into a veteran studio performer. “Calling” is far more pop and nowhere near the sadness that dominated his early work, while the demo of “Close” is hardly what one thinks of when seeing the word "demo." It’s a gorgeous, fully executed recording of yet another song that points to a successful career as a singer, a songwriter, or both. The cover of The Guillemots’ “Made Up Love Song #43” sheds light on his interests and influences, but doesn’t surpass Watson’s own talents, also on display on “Songs That We Wrote When We Were Drunk.” It'd be a greater shock if Lewis Watson isn’t a household name within the next few years, so consistent and confident are his talents.
