Joe Budden had a big year in 2009—the Jersey City rapper digitally released his first LP with the Slaughterhouse collective as well as two solo albums. On Escape Route, the third of these, Budden didn’t seem to be running out of pensive, heavy-hitting confessions. With "Forgive Me," Budden assumes full responsibility for his behavior past and present over a goth-funk groove, while he defends human imperfections on the strings-laden, slow-simmering "Good Enough." "We Outta Here" brings out the rest of Slaughterhouse for a certified club banger.
