Send You

Send You

New Zealand’s Sneaky Feelings released this debut album, Send You, in 1983. The additional tracks on this reissue include the 1985 “Be My Friend” single and the Husband House EP, plus tracks from a 1990 radio session. The group’s melodic pop is more pronounced than that of countrymates like The Clean or The Chills, with an emphasis on harmonies and careful arrangements. The recordings are mid-fi compared to U.K.-U.S. standards of the time, but songs like “Strangers Again,” “Someone Else’s Eyes,” and “Not to Take Sides” are as pure power pop as anything from Nick Lowe, Elvis Costello, Squeeze, or The Knack.
