Kidz Bop 25

Kidz Bop 25

At 25 albums young, the Kidz Bop series, in which a chorus of teenage voices cover pop's biggest hits, remains one of the most successful franchises in music. For this 25th installment, the Kidz set themselves to some of 2013's most popular singles. Katy Perry's "Roar" is that much more empowering sung by a few dozen tween voices, while One Direction's "Best Song Ever" seems like it was written especially for this format, its ebullience spilling over during its harmonized chorus. Proving it's become one of the biggest genres in the world, EDM makes its way onto this comp via Zedd's "Clarity" and Avicii's ubiquitous "Wake Me Up." Already one of the most inherently cute songs in recent memory, the pop-percussion of "Cups," from the Pitch Perfect soundtrack, is here too, alongside the novelty song "What Does the Fox Say," a veritable nursery rhyme that works especially well.
