Johnnyswim feature the husband-and-wife team of Abner Ramirez and Amanda Sudano, the daughter of disco icon Donna Summer. The two bring their voices together for dramatic, emotional pop songs that leave a deep impression. The title track of their debut album has an epic sweep worthy of Meat Loaf; in just four minutes, it feels as if their hearts have traveled around the world. The duo’s success has been immediate. On the basis of a few early EPs, Johnnyswim drew the attention of VH-1 (which selected the duo as its first-ever "You Oughta Know +" artist), the Today show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson; all had them perform on their programs. The intro to “A Million Years” gives a glimpse behind the scenes before starting gently and building to a climactic chorus. The piano ballad “Take the World” is closer to mainstream easy listening. The orchestration behind “Paris in June” creates a tasteful surrounding for further sweet vocal stylings.
