The Best of Sunshot
Various Artists
A onetime employee of the mighty Studio One label, singer Phil Pratt moved behind the glass in the late ‘60s, starting the Sunshot label to release his own spacious productions. Pratt’s ear led him to record singular reggae voices early on in their careers, be it Dennis Brown on the emotional “Let Love In,” Horace Andy on the bluesy “Let the Teardrops Fall,” or Ken Boothe on a slow, soulful recut of “Artibella.”
