Though it first appears to be a mishmash of three previously unreleased studio tunes, three remixes, and four other live versions of fan favorites, #LocationLocationLocation forms an ideal portrait of Anthony David’s creativity and integrity. His most distinguishing traits are his acoustic guitar playing and his soothing, seasoned voice. The last four songs here have him performing onstage alone with his guitar, and there's arguably no better display of his charms than that. Still, the rest of the album offers unexpected revelations. “Rolling Mojo” features an arrangement for a small string ensemble that suggests the possibility of a whole new songform: a mix of acoustic-based R&B and chamber music. It’s the remixes, though, that really show how adaptable David’s voice is. By reducing the formerly bass-heavy song to a twinkle, the Wangout remix brings out the sweetness in “Body Language.” Meanwhile, the electronic bossa nova of “Reach Ya (Masheen Remix)” completely illuminates David’s charisma. The remix takes his deep soul song and lets it walk on air.
