From its lush, country-tinged opening title track, Robert Earl Keen is a natural in the folk-rocking domain of The Rose Hotel. He follows that up with a wistful take on fellow Texas songwriter Townes Van Zandt’s “Flying Shoes,” and he’s his typically jokey self on the bluesy, honky-tonk-ready “10,000 Chinese Walk Into a Bar,” featuring a guest spot from singer/actor Billy Bob Thornton. And “Wireless In Heaven” is a funny, twangy tune about feeling just a little too connected.
