Return & Rebirth
Crash is one of few "Metal" bands in South Korea, where the heavy music scene is very negligible.
Influenced by the bands like Slayer, Sepultura, and Pantera, Crash's first three albums during early, mid 90's were faithful to the thrash roots, while the latter two efforts around the new millenium were fueled with some experiments of industrial sound effects and trends of nu-kinnda heavy music at the time.
After the hiatus of 7 years, Crash finally has released 6th Album, "The Paragon of Animals".
For those who are not familiar with the band, I would like to say that Crash's career line is somewhat similar with that of Machine Head. Both bands got their first releases in the post-Pantera period (with the hands of the same producer, Collin Richardson), and came back to their roots after the some musical detours, with which some old school fans were not happy.
So, this album, Crash's "The Paragon of Animals", can be arguably said as their version of "The Blackening", in terms of the position in their discography (of course, I AM NOT SAYING the album is a rip-off of Machine Head's). It is the return and rebirth as well.
Bottom line? It is a good album, and will be a fun listen, as far as you don't mind a little bit of growls and clean vocal choruses approach.
