Anxiety

Anxiety

New Zealand songwriter Pip Brown added a heap of crunchy '90s alt-rock guitars to her usual '80s New Wave leanings for her second album as Ladyhawke. Like many of her '90s idols, she has angst to burn and neuroses to untangle; on "Anxiety," she tries to shut down the voices in her head with a cocky synth-rock groove, while on the seductive “Black White & Blue,” Brown finds confidence in the song’s sneering Day-Glo feedback.
