Album Review
Blonker, aka Dieter Geike of Hamburg, Germany, is known throughout Europe for his easygoing sound—modern, swinging, but mellow guitar music with no concessions made to current trends and musical fashions. Blonker's U.S. debut recording, The Tree of Life, is filled with memorable songs that mark exceptional instrumental work. This release features several tracks dedicated to beautiful cities that have influenced his life. "La Valetta" is dedicated to the picturesque capital of Malta. "Saudade" and "The River Flows" are dedicated to Dresden, the former capital of Saxonia on Germany's second biggest river, Elbe.

Excellent Guitarist, and Great Music to Boot!
I first heard Blonker on a late-night New Age radio show just after this CD came out. It was a devil to find: In the end, after much hunting high and low to get it, I realized (at that time) you could only buy his music as an import from his native Germany. I first bought the CD because I liked the music and arranging; Since then I've taken up Guitar playing myself and have gone on to appreciate the Blonker for his technique as well. This album is beautiful all the way through - Castles In the air, Travelling and Sweet Nioma ar the best ;)

I think Blonker is one of the finest acoustic guitar players in the world. The entire album is simply outstanding but the track "Castles In The Air" shows off Blonker's fine talent as an artiest. "Castles In The Air" is beautifully arranged & composed, mellow and warm. This track will take you on a journey like you never been on before. I really love this track and if you like the acoustic guitar than you will love Blonker's "Castles In The Air".
