Driver

Driver

In Tall Buildings is the pseudonym of Erik Hall, who’s worked with Wild Belle, NOMO, and His Name Is Alive in various capacities. Taking what he learned from each experience and applying it to his own home studio recordings, Hall made a second solo album, Driver, which captures a number of moods and approaches. “Aloft” and “Cedarspeaker” are guitar instrumentals built on ambience, while “Pouring Out” is reminiscent of Band of Horses at their most reflective, with “Exiled” creating its own somber, sun-breaking-over-the-horizon beauty with guitars that jangle in fingerpicked circles and mild synths filling the sound for plaintive double-tracked vocals.
