iTunes Review

Allison Weiss … Was Right All Along is a charming set of introspective break-up songs with lyrics that often contrast with the sweet and sunny melodies. Whether she delivers her lovesick tales with just a quiet acoustic guitar and closely mic’d vocals (“I Was an Island,” “July 25, 2007,” “Why Bother”) or bounces along with a full band (“Fingers Crossed,” “You + Me + Alcohol,” “Yer Going Down”), it’s easy to relate to the feelings she expresses. It’s also easy to fall for the sharp hooks; Weiss knows how to write a catchy pop song. There is a strong undercurrent of twee here for sure, yet her voice and lyrics are so direct and sincere that they make you care as well as want to dance. She almost makes heartbreak sound fun. This is Weiss’ first full-length (she’s released five self-produced EPs prior to this) and it shows that this talented young singer-songwriter possesses a lot of promise.

Allison Weiss + a guitar = geniousness

The only bad thing about this album is that when you're listening to one of the songs, it means you're not listening to the rest of the songs.

Whilst listening to this album for the first time, I smiled, I cried, I danced, I sang along loudly. This album makes me happy. I love it.

YOU'RE THE BEST, ALLISON! Keep up your amazingness.

Solid album by an amazing artist.

Fantastic album, it highlights her ability to write creative lyrics. The songs previously heard as solo songs translate very well to a full band sound. A great example of this is Try To Understand. The album flows well and will leave you wanting more.

Yes! She Was Right All Along...

A solid album by a great artist. This is by far one of the best albums of the year. This is a must have for all you Indie Pop lovers.
