Nemmo: Paystyle Flow - No Pen Vol. 2

While he may be unknown to most of the world outside of California, Bay Area O.G. Messy Marv doesn't really care — he just keeps putting out sick music at an absolutely breakneck pace. Between solo albums, collabo projects, mixtapes, and compilations, dude has dropped well over 40 full-lengths between 1996 and 2010, and has never run out of sharp, quotable verses and crazy catchy hooks. Nemmo: Paystyle Flow – No Pen Vol. 2 is his second release under the Boy Boy Young Mess moniker, and continues his long tradition of ear-ticking street rap that is simultaneously gangsta, thoughtful, and far slicker than your average. "White Girlz" gives props to the fair-skinned ladies, while "Fake" takes aim at fraudulent rap stars, threatening serious beatdowns over an addictive futuristic beat. Even freestyling on a mixtape, the Fillmore kingpin sounds better than the vast majority of cats coming out today. Take a listen and find out for yourself.
