Based in the historically rich state of Wyoming, Screen Door Porch reflect their surroundings with an iconoclastic approach toward Western-styled roots music. Led by the multi-instrumentalist singer/songwriter duo of Seadar Rose and Aaron Davis, the quartet’s flexibility is rooted by fretless bassist Tom Davidson and drummer Andy Peterson. The song “1937” tells the story of the first homesteading clan in Jackson Hole, Wyo.: the 12-member, unusually musical Wolff family, led by ragtime guitarist and fiddler Stippy Wolff. Bobby Charles’ “Street People” and Delaney & Bonnie and Leon Russell’s “Poor Elijah/Tribute to Johnson” seal the album’s authentic nature.
