It's Not Funny

It's Not Funny

David Cross was the first comedian signed to alt-rock label Sub Pop Records and, given the punk-infused rage on It’s Not Funny, it’s clear why. Recorded in Washington, D.C., this set serves up a dizzying screed against mainstream media, the political establishment, rich people entitlement, and essentially anyone else Cross views as lazy or anti-intellectual. In the aftermath of 9/11, as the nation recoiled in a tight knot of nationalism, paranoia, and hopelessness, Cross takes a good, hard look at America and isn’t happy with what he sees.
